Project Daily
« Gepost op: 02 september, 2011, 22:15 »
The van was my daily transport and left parked in the street until about 18 months ago when I got a rented garage to keep it in up the road and keep it safe. Then bought myself a Mercedes 190e, smoke silver with Red MB tex interior which I kept until nearly 6 months ago, loved that car to bits and regret having to sell it but it was crap on fuel and we needed an estate car. Easy choice really Merc 3lt Diesel or another B3 and when this came up for sale the choice was made.

Advertised as in good condition, 1992 1900TD Passat, one owner, fully stamped service book, a millage of 119, 000 miles, resent full service, long MOT  so how  could not resist. Downside was the car was 180 miles away, the fuel and temp gauge had packed up, nose cone has been damaged due to the bonnet latch breaking. On arrival the seller told me that they had recently put £20 worth of fuel in it to get me some of the way home, seller also told me that their partner had unknowingly to them recently put fuel in it so they have no ideal how much was in the tank. After paying for the car the first thing I did was to fill the tank full and guess what under £5 and it was full, Diesel was about £1.28 a litre then so I was a happy bunny.

First job was to fix the gauge which was straight forward and then the only bit of rust on the bottom of one of the arch's and then fit a stereo,
also fitted roof bars and a tow bar.

So far the cars been pretty good, had it running on pump diesel and bio diesel and have put straight veg oil in it. Also been on holiday and clocked up another 6k miles in her.

Plan was to keep her standard but this is slowly fading, set of cheap alloys is on the cards as is set of lowering springs. Had recovered another headling for the van but since then have decided on another colour so the head liner was removed from Project daily and replaced with the one from the van as that suited

Here some pictures

As I picked her up

The only bit of rust now gone

New Head lining
